The Art of Storytelling

Nature, culture, and place inspire my work. It always begins with a sketch. Sketching is how I experience where I am and tell that story.

When traveling, a happy ritual is to toss a small sketchbook, 6B pencils, and a handful of pastels into my yellow dry bag or backpack. This is my way to take it all in and smell the roses, stopping just long enough to be in the moment and drink deeply what I see and feel.
